About SLPC Life of the Church Church & Community |
Adult Groups Church-Wide Studies Typically, there is a church study in the fall and spring. Those who wish to participate join small groups to review and discuss the topics for the particular study. Watch for information on our current studies in your bulletins and the weekly SLPC Headlines email.
The Wednesday night group led by Pam Mendorop begins at 7:00pm on Wednesday nights in the Fireside Lounge. The Lydia Ruth Circle and the Mary Sarah Circle information is located on the Presbyterian Women page. Everyone is welcome to stop by and join a weekly discussion group. Young at Heart: Young At Heart group meets periodically throughout the year. Some of their activities include game nights and bon fires. If you're interested in joining, please contact Joyce Aldridge or the church office at 616-842-5060. Not-So-Youth-Group: The Not-So-Youth-Group includes anyone post-college, single or married, with children or without, through families with elementary school aged children. Our events go back and forth between adult only events (usually with babysitting available at church) and family activities where the kids are invited to come along. We’ve had events such as bowling, Christmas progressive dinner, 5/3rd ballpark game, potluck dinner at the park, and swimming at a hotel. If you're interested in participating in the Not-So-Youth-Group activities, please talk to Rev. Jen Porter. Dine with Nine: We hold our Dine With Nine dinners just a few times a year to give people a chance to interact with others they normally might not have the chance to sit down with. Dine With Nine is an informal potluck dinner hosted by one of the participants. People sign up to either host or participate and are randomly mixed up into groups of about nine people. The host usually takes care of a “main course” (anything…lasagna or tacos or hamburgers on the grill) and then contacts each person to bring something to add to the meal. Then when you come back to church Sunday morning, there will be a few more familiar faces. If you would like to host or participate look for announcements of the next dinner in Sunday's bulletin then, sign up in the Narthex. Presbyterian Women: All women are invited to participate in any of the Presbyterian Women's activities. To learn more about the Presbyterian Women and their activities please visit the Presbyterian Women page. Prayer Study Group
