Reverend Daniel K. Anderson
Reverend Daniel K. Anderson was installed as pastor of the Spring Lake
Presbyterian Church March 15, 1993. He received a BA from Oakland
University in 1985 majoring in Philosophy. In 1988 he received a M.Div.
from Princeton Theological Seminary and was ordained pastor of the
Hesperia Presbyterian Church where he served for 5 years until coming to
Spring Lake.
Reverend Anderson has served the Presbytery as its Moderator in 2004. He
also served the Presbytery as moderator of the Polity Cabinet, moderator
of the Budget and Finance Committee, moderator of the Presbyterian
Foundation, member of the Presbytery Restructuring Task Force, member of
the Presbytery Board of Trustees, member of the Presbytery Investment
Committee, member of the Presbytery Human Sexuality Task Force, member
of the Executive Presbyter Search Committee, member of the Committee on
Preparation for Ministry, member of the Permanent Judicial Commision and
Clergy Commissioner to General Assembly in Ft. Worth Texas.
In 1998 Rev. Dan initiated a Law Enforcement Chaplaincy in the Spring
Lake area. In 2000 he graduated from the Kalamazoo Police Academy as a
Certified Police Officer. As an Officer, Dan has received Letters of
Commendation for extraordinary service and in 2003 became certified as a
Hostage Negotiator with advanced FBI training. He is an Extra Class
Amateur Radio Operator and holds advanced certifications as a SCUBA
Diver. Dan and his wife Diane of 30+ years are the proud parents of
three daughters, Kim (Francis) Reminder, Holly and Bridget. They are
also the proud grandparents of Diane, Amy and Bernadette Reminder.
